About Us

At Discover Illustration, we believe great visuals can be life-changing, especially for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Whether you're creating a social story, designing accessible classroom materials, or publishing inclusive resources, the right illustration can bridge communication gaps, reduce anxiety, and support engagement. We've curated a diverse selection of illustrations which capture the power of visual learning and support neurodivergent and disabled audiences.

How to Use

Visuals are a powerful tool for SEND learners—they support understanding, reduce cognitive load, and offer alternative ways to process information beyond written or spoken language. For learners with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or processing challenges, illustrations can clarify routines, explain emotions, and make abstract ideas more concrete.

Representation is just as important. When learners see characters who look, move, or communicate like they do, it builds confidence, fosters inclusion, and sends a clear message: you belong here. Inclusive illustration isn’t just a design choice—it’s a commitment to access, empathy, and dignity.
